  1. MineSweeper version 1.1.0

  4. This program is an OS/2 2.0 version of MineSweeper, a game distributed
  5. by Microsoft as a part of their Entertainment Pack for Windows, and
  6. included with Windows 3.1.  I attempted to be faithful to the original
  7. game when designing my interface, so current MineSweeper users will not
  8. have any learning curve.  I plan to add new features, not found in the
  9. Microsoft game, in future releases.

  11. MineSweeper is a 32-bit executable for use with the OS/2 2.0 operating
  12. system and it's Presentation Manager graphical interface.  It will not
  13. operate on 16-bit versions of OS/2, such as 1.2 and 1.3.

  15. To run MineSweeper, either double click on it's icon or type "start
  16. mine" from a text session.  If you make a program reference icon for it,
  17. be sure the startup directory is the same directory that the program and
  18. its files reside in.

  20. To learn how to play the game, choose "Extended Help" from the "Help"
  21. menu and read the screens.  They should describe the game completely.

  23. Note that help will not be available unless the file MINE.HLP exists in
  24. the same directory as the MINE.EXE program.

  26. When you quit MineSweeper for the first time, a MINE.INI file will be
  27. created in the program's directory.  It will contain all your settings,
  28. including the high scores and the window's position.  To reset
  29. everything, just delete this file and it will be created with blank data
  30. the next time you run MineSweeper.

  46. the comp.binaries.os2 newsgroup and will be uploaded to the
  47. ftp-os2.nmsu.edu server.  While I may upload this package elsewhere, and
  48. others may upload it wherever they choose, these two Internet sites are
  49. the only two places I promise to send every update to.
